The Compassion of the Lord

Lamentations 3: 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

 

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to you today with a heart that is filled with thanksgiving. We thank you for our family and we thank you for the great love that you have extended to us. It is because of your love that we are still standing in spite of what the enemy has tried to do to destroy us. We are not perfect, but your love continues to cover us. Your love draws us to you in times of trouble. Your love stands as a barrier to protect us from dangers that could have consumed us. It is because of your great love that no matter what it looks like, there is still hope for our family.

Thank you for your compassion for our family that has never failed. Thank you that in spite of decisions that were made in hurt, anger, or ignorance, your compassion stood as a barrier to protect us from deadly consequences. When misfortune overtook us and the reality of it impaled our hearts, it was your unfailing compassion for us that allowed hope to remain among us. Because of your compassion, you always do what is best for us. Thank you!

Today we open our hearts up to the new things that you have for our family. We proclaim newness of mind to think your thoughts. We proclaim newness of heart to receive the love that you so graciously and generously give to us each day. We proclaim newness of speech so that the words that we speak will always align with what you have already said.

Thank you for your faithfulness over our family today and always. Amen.
