ALL THINGS NEW

This coming Sunday our churches will be filled with many who come to church only once a year. I am so excited to welcome them to God's house and to share with them the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I can think of no better time to make this day all about them!! After all, isn't that what the death on the cross and the resurrection from the dead is all about? Resurrection Sunday is about the love of God for all mankind.

If you are reading this blog and you are one of the once-a-year church goers, I want you to know that God loved you so much that He gave the best that He had to prove it. He gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins. Why did he do that? Because sin separates you from God and God wants to be in relationship with you. He misses you and He wants to be able to walk and talk with you on a daily basis. The blood of Jesus was the only thing that would wash away your sins. So Jesus took the punishment for all of your sins. Every sin that you have ever done or will ever do, Jesus died for it!! But that isn't all. After Jesus died His enemies put him in a grave thinking that He was eternally dead. But in three days he rose from the dead. He rose to give you life! He rose with the victory over all sickness and grief and iniquities! He rose so you could have life and that more abundantly. All you have to do is accept Him as your Savior. Ask him to forgive you of all your sins and to come and live in your heart forever.

How do you do that? It's really simple. Romans 10:9-10, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If you are tired of the old life that you have and you would like to start life all over again, Jesus is waiting to give you that new life. His arms are outstretched and He already knows everything about you...even the things you keep trying to hide. Trust me I know because He did it for me. He gave me a brand new life and I wrote this poem about it.

All Things New

I came to Him so torn and ragged with little hope at all

He stood before me arms outstretched and I yielded to His call.

So many had hurt me times before and yet it seemed like I

Just had to give to Him the chance to prove He wasn't a lie.

I didn't search His background and hoped for me the same.

For my past had been so ugly and filled with great shame,

That I knew it would be easier for Him to be my friend

If I could only keep from Him my terrible life of sin.

But as I stood before Him those things I hoped to hide

All flashed before Him, yet He did not seem surprised.

Then I thought how could this be that He'd known all the time

About the darkness in my life and He still said, "Please me mine."

Repentant tears began to fall and somehow I knew it was true

To Him my past was in the past and we started life anew!

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
